With time, women suffer from biological deficiencies that lead to aging. Not only do bones and skin age but hair changes too, becoming visibly thinner and more vulnerable. For Kérastase, this transformation can be explained by 3 characteristics present in mature hair:
- FIBRO-POROSITY* - LOSS of DENSITY - DRY SCALP
*Hair condition characterized by excessive weakness in the hair fibre due to deficiencies in the hair and a loss of melanin.
WHAT IS FIBRO-POROSITY ? An excessive weakness specific to mature hair, which can be explained by three characteristics:
1 . YOUR HAIR IS STRUCTURALLY WEAKENED The intercellular cement in mature hair may be impaired. Age Premium contains ingredients that help to strengthen the hair and improve elasticity.
2 . YOUR HAIR IS MORE SENSITIVE TO RADIATION The whitening of hair over time is due to a gradual reduction in melanin, the color pigment of the hair. Melanin traditionally performs a protective role and absorbs some of the sun's rays. White hair is therefore more sensitive when exposed to the sun. With exposure to UV rays, the hair becomes weak.

2 . WITH AGE, THE AMOUNT OF SEBUM DECREASES With age hormonal imbalances lead to a continual reduction in the amount of sebum produced. The scalp is less protected and is prone to becoming dry.
